How did we live without our super technologically
advanced smartphones? They do everything from playing videos, to gps, to
texting, and even making calls. They are the best of everything, except
for durability. Extremely fragile, most smartphones become useless if
they hit the ground, or a little water.
Not so the Casio G'Zone Commando for Verizon! It's a smartphone that takes a licking and keeps on ticking, to paraphrase the old Timex watch commercials. It meets or exceeds military specifications for immersion, dust, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, low pressure and high and low temperatures. it has a 4" display and includes a Durable Touch Panel equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass. It includes GPS of course, but also a compass, a pedometer, barometer, and more.
The phone should be able to handle drops, spills and dirt that accompany physically demanding activities such as those in harsh work environments or outdoors. In one case testers have even submerged it for half an hour, with no ill effects. It runs the Android operating system, and it's battery lasts 450 minutes.
